The history of Argos

Posted by admin in Travel Management

Argos is an ancient Greek city which is part of the prefecture of Argolis, in the region of the Peloponnese. It has four main subdivisions: Kokla, Larissa, Akova, and Timenio. This city has gone through several interesting historical events, and its past is among the main factors which attract tourists to its lands.

During the Mycenaean times, the city of Argos was an important stronghold, and was seen by the rest of the region as a strategic spot. This area was one of the first spots in the region in being inhabited and to become a town, only equaled by the acropolis of Tiryns and Mycenae.

In the Homeric times, the city of Argos was ruled by a follower of Agamemnon, and the name of the district in which this city is located, Argolis, was originated from such ©poque. Later, during the Romans, the region would be known as Argeia since that was the name given by these inhabitants.

During the Persian War, Argos was asked to fight and refused to do so, which caused it to be somehow despised by many of the neighboring cities for certain period of time. This was one of the most critical and difficult moments in the history of Argos, although it was soon overcome and become part of the past.

At beginnings of the 12th century, one of the most interesting constructions of Argos was built, the Castle of Larissa. Besides this construction, this city and its surroundings have received several amazing buildings and constructions as time passed by, some of them can be still seen.

Nowadays, the city of Argos is the largest city in the prefecture of Argolis, and one of the most visited by tourists as well. Argolis’ economy is mainly based on agriculture, and oranges as well as other critics are among the main resources of the city. There are many interesting spots visitors can meet while they are in Argos, such as the Archeological Museum or many antique constructions, they should ask for information on the town’s main attractions in order to make sure of meeting not missing any of them.

How To Stop Toddlers From Biting

Posted by admin in Kids + Parenting

It is an unfortunate fact of life but, unfortunately, toddlers and biting frequently go together. It is a painful time for both the toddler and their parents and trying to stop the toddler from biting can be quite a challenge.

Toddlers and biting may be a difficult challenge but there is hope for a cure if you are patient and consistent. First you need to understand why your toddler bites. The primary reason that a toddler bites another child or their parents is because of frustration. The toddler is now aware of his/her needs but frequently lacks the ability to successfully communicate those needs. Another reason that toddlers bite is when they are stressed. New situations, new environments, new people or playmates can all stress a toddler and biting maybe their reaction to it. Being hungry or tired also add to the toddler’s stress.

If a toddler bites out of frustration it is important to start teaching them the exact words they need to use in order to express their wants. Simple phrases like, “I want…” work best. If a toddler bites out of stress the best medicine is preventative medicine. Try to avoid putting the child in positions where he/she will likely to become stressed, a stress that may result in biting.

When your toddler bites it is important that you respond immediately and appropriately. You need to let the toddler know that biting is not acceptable social behavior and that it needs to stop. Teaching the toddler appropriate means to handle stress and frustration are the best tools to handle toddlers and biting.

Sci Fi; Hypersonic Flight and The Reality of Things To Come

Posted by admin in Online Technology Resources

I believe their is a way to have an on board aircraft laser the air in front of it and move the air out of the way, thus less friction at lower altitudes, no sonic booms and rapid acceleration no induced or parasite drag at low altitudes. You could call it hyper laser atmospheric conditioning. By doing this, the power to weight rations are no longer important and you can fly on air itself with low pressure.

Here is one possible way that it might work or how it works. You blast the crap out of the air in front of you causing a tube of non-air, a vacuum tube of non-air if you will, in the direction of intended travel. If you intend a sharp turn using directional thrust on let’s say an Aurora aircraft platform, you would have to calculate in advance where you were going. Now you do not have to worry about killing the pilot by forcing too many G’s on his body because he is now in a vacuum.

You could try to force air downward like a Harrier Jet or a hover board type skateboard by blowing low pressure while in the tube while cornering to prevent hitting the sides of the tube by blows low-pressure area under the craft or board. When you want to turn you turn the laser at an angle to blast a continuation of the tube in the intended direction of travel. Most of the super heated or blasted air exiting down compacting the sides of the tube and setting up a boundary made of think air which is now compacted and even more dense air and you use that dense air to pivot on with the low pressure area you blow underneath the craft as it banks within the tube created with the laser.

You could do this in a wind tunnel, because I do not think I wish to be the first pioneer to die until the airflow disruptions are calculated and proven. After all we do know something about traveling and maneuvering in a vacuum. To slow down you decrease the power of the laser. You might even have the propulsion system or engines on the outside of the tube and the tube only in the area of where the fuselage will be traveling. Thus you eliminate all the drag caused by the body of the craft. A person on a “personal hover Craft” PHC, also I am sure would prefer to travel where most of his or her body was outside the vacuum where they could breath. It would appear as if they were flying. The problem of course is the power required to power up the laser. Wave Rider Technology exists, but perhaps we could take these aero dynamic proven airfoils and add another dimension to them and send aircraft in the atmosphere at incredible speeds and at first the engines needing oxygen could be outside the bubble tube hyper vacuum.

Eventually projects such as the scram jet engines maybe adapted for flying within tube. You can then travel and turn on a dime, start and stop without killing occupants. You could travel like a flying saucer movie or those claims made by the Belgium, Mexican, Iranian, US pilots trying to intercept a UFO.

You could also move energy and light within these tubes. You could send a craft, weather flows, and water flows in tubes of air to the area needed to fill up reservoirs. Well we are getting quite ahead of the technology and subject matter but with the discoveries we are making we may eventually get to a point to use some of these ideas. Now if we had groups of scientists comitted to this for a spell and some non-linear thinking physicists we might make something of this idea. Let us think for a second these technologies will work for weather control and flying without air turbulence, no speed limit, little power, you could launch the shuttle right through the atmosphere without wasting fuel, and re-entry issues until you are completely slowed to a stop and sitting on the ground and simply turn it off as the vacuum closes behind you, no friction, no problems of re-entry since you are traveling in a vacuum until you are parked. You could capture missiles fired at you using this technique, they would keep bouncing in the tube you created and then you end the tube and they hit huge pocket of air, like a Chandelier from a bridge on to water and it blows up.

This idea came from fluid dynamics and since air is a fluid, just less dense, and therefore easier to manipulate. We could use these to make funneling clouds to put out forest fires and release the water over the fire, like making the walls of a garden hose out of air then using ionic propulsion to motivate the water. Now water in a vacuum is much easier to control and it would stay together for easy transport.

By moving a piece of space in the intended path we can save fuel and increase efficiency and an object in motion will continue in motion until an equal and opposite reaction…No then in a vacuum created for travel you have no opposite reactions unless you decide to create them. If you have any Science Fiction Type thoughts along this line, on Hypersonic Flight or Space Flight the World Think Tank is interested in hearing from you.

Get Pleasure from the Excitement of Radio Controlled Toys

A remote operated car is made up of a remote and the model vehicle. By turning or pushing the controls up or down & left or right, the worker has the capability to let it go in every direction.

There are several mock-ups presently up for grabs in the consumer marketplace. The basic ones can only travel a small distance. People that yearn to witness the authentic deal would be advised to procure the radio control car that requires being assembled & customised. Click now to find the prices on remote control race cars.

Remote operated toy cars are grouped either as electric powered or as nitro motorised. The essential attribute concerning radio controlled toys that have an electric motor is that the battery supplied is fully renewable. Whereas, radio control vehicles that use fuel will have to be replenished & lubricated after a specific period of time, which is extremely identical to standard road cars.

These model cars are regularly driven by kids of varied ages. Particular specialist outlets have remote controlled vehicles similar to those raced in NASCAR racing as well as monster trucks that are often seen in the destruction derby. This merely underlines that individuals can take pleasure in remote controlled cars both on and off the road.

Do these splendid toys require masses of care? Yes they do. The owner must analyse the battery, the shock absorbers & the tires on a frequent basis. This will certify that the vehicle is competent to preserve its pace & efficiency each & every occasion it’s sent to the race course.

The enthusiast should be conscious that not all of the machinery are capable of being fixed. This is due to toy producers designing their cars to work only until the machinery purely crack. Enthusiasts that wish to enjoy the radio control vehicle will somehow need to trade the machinery, yet this can every now and then be tricky to find.

Remote operated toys do not only relate to cars. There are also lots of planes, ships and helicopters accessible in the toy store.

Both parents & kids alike who are inquisitive and for some reason have never done this prior almost for certain should stick to the entry level model(s) and then only upgrade later if the individual is totally serious with it & desires to take part in official toy car competitions on a regular basis.

Make Believe

Posted by admin in Hall Of Publishing

Many times our every day lives can overwhelm us and we desperately need a break. Being a wife, homemaker, and mother can be a challenge and some days we feel discouraged. That’s the time when we would like to enter the world of Make-Believe.

Perhaps after we do the dishes, change a diaper, and put our children down for a nap, we may have a couple hours to read a novel and slip into that make-believe world; a world of escape when our frustrations are high and we desperately need a break and a place to relax so we can be ready for the next go-around with our children.

In that little corner is a world that can fill us with wonder, where dreams can come true, where we can go on an intriguing adventure, or we can even fall in love all over again…reminding us of the first time we fell in love with our husbands.

Lucy Montgomery said, “While solitude with dreams is glorious, solitude without them has few charms.” Jerome Kern expressed it differently. He wrote, “The game of just supposing is the sweetest game I know. Our dreams are more romantic than the world we see.”

Perhaps the world we see is full of dirty dishes, soiled diapers, teenagers arguing over an item that was recently borrowed, and busy husbands that forget to give us a kiss before they walk out the door. This can make a homemaker feel discouraged. Times like this are when we would like to enter the World of Make-Believe.

How many times have you wished to go on an adventure in the jungles of South America, follow Harry Potter into a magical world, or to fall in love all over again? We need to be reminded of that romantic love. Novels are a “god-send” and can give us that extra little “umph” that we need. They can also teach us and remind us where our priorities should be, reminding us to not take our relationships for granted.

In my novel, Melinda and the Wild West, we can imagine how it feels when Gilbert gazes warmly at Melinda, admiring her integrity and studying her face, as if memorizing every contour of it. We can imagine how it feels when he impulsively lifts her chin and presses his warm lips to hers, making her heart swell within. Then we remember what it was like to be in love and all our frustrations leave as we sigh and close the novel, just waiting to pick it up when we have time the following day.

When we slide our hands around our husband’s waist and give him a hug, we can “make-believe” that we are young once again and realize that our love is greater now than the first day of our marriage. We’ve had those tough days and wonder if we were destined to change diapers and clean house for the rest of our lives, but we can get through it. We’re tough and we can do anything we set our minds to.

When you read how Gilbert cradled Melinda in his arms and gazed into her eyes with adoring love, think of the adoring love you have for the man you married. When he cooks for you or watches the children so you can have a halcyon day to yourself, be grateful for his help. Appreciate what he does for you and then plan a romantic get-away once in a while.

Just remember that “if the things we dream about don’t happen to be so, that’s just an unimportant technicality.” (Jerome Kern) The happy ending in the novels you read can happen if you only let it. Life is worth living and it will become what we make of it. Just remember to pick up a novel and take some time for yourself and “Make-Believe.”

Don’t Be Scared of Needles - Take A Few Shots!

Posted by admin in Market

Beep….Beep….Beep….Beep…. Yeah, don’t act like you don’t know what that sound is… It’s the sound that we entrepreneurs have become all too familiar with: the alarm clock buzz (or should I call it the alarm clock shout from HELL!). If you’re like me, then you usually hate having to wake up super early in the mornings and you hate feeling so tired that you can pass out at any given moment. But that’s just the life of the budding entrepreneur and getting up early and getting a fresh start on the day is a part of the requirements that help us become successful.

Over the years I have grown tolerable about waking up early. I still don’t like it, but what I do like are the results of getting a fresh start to the day. So nowadays it isn’t too bad because I make sure to carry a few needles with me to wake me up. Keep on reading and you’ll soon learn about what I mean.

There’s something that I do that really wakes me up in the morning…that really gets me going and my mind turning…that really gets my blood flowing…that really…(ok you get the point)

Here it is: every morning I inject myself. Ok, now I’m not talking about crack or heroin, I am talking about a “mental” injection. Every morning for a few minutes I clear my mind and go into a deep concentration about the future success of my company and basically how much I love being a young entrepreneur.

I just relax and focus on all of the future fruits of my hard work, of all the days waking up early, of all the struggles I have and are currently enduring, and all of the times I have spent thinking, innovating, and brainstorming up unique ideas and concepts. After a few minutes of this meditation (or should I say medication), my body literally becomes filled with energy and with pure joy. I know that all of my efforts will be worth it in the end and I know that the life I am living is a true blessing because I have that special drug called: passion.

Every entrepreneur needs to mentally inject themselves at least once a day. Don’t worry, it won’t hurt like in the doctor’s office, this injection actually feels awesome.

It doesn’t only have to be an injection filled with the future success of your business, it can be anything that motivates you to keep on going; anything that makes your heart take an extra beat; anything that continues to keep that white flame of desire lit in your eyes. Go ahead and fill your needle with any serum that does it for you. We’re all different so no dose will be the same.

I usually take my injection in the mornings to help get my mind right and wake me up from an early awakening. But there are days when I overdose and take around 5 injections or more. Talk about being HIGH!

For instance, I can be at the computer and begin to feel stressed out from all of the work that I have ahead of me and all of the people that I need to attend to for the day; when that happens I just go ahead and give myself an injection and just like that I am as high as the sky buzzing once again about my company and where it’s taking me in life.

The good thing about these injections is that you don’t have to go into some obscure corner of an alley to shoot up and get high, all you have to do is focus your mind and mentally inject anywhere you likeright out in the open. Cool, eh?

So the next time you’re feeling so darn tired in the morning that all you want to do is fall back asleep instead of bangin’ out some work…or the next time you’re feelin’ stressed out from all of the work and clients that you have to take care of… just go ahead and inject away!

Always carry your mental needles with you everywhere you go, because you never know when you’ll need a dose of that good stuff….. The only carrying case you’ll need is a mind and if you’re reading this then I am sure you have one of those.

Disclaimer:

You can never be too high off of your business so feel free to take multiple injections…actually just go ahead and overdose!

Understanding Your Florida 2005 Property Tax Bill

Posted by admin in Finance Network

Real Estate and Tangible Personal Property Tax Bills May Now Be Paid at a Discount

Taxes paid–i.e., received by the Tax Collector–during

November are subject to a 4% discount;

December are subject to a 3% discount;

January are subject to a 2% discount;

February are subject to a 1% discount.

Taxes paid after March 31 are delinquent and are subject to penalties and 1 1/2% delinquent interest per month.

As of this writing, bills have been mailed out on every parcel of real estate and every folio of taxable tangible personal property in Florida.

Real property taxes are ad valorem assessments on parcels of land, buildings and improvements to land and buildings within Miami-Dade County. The real property tax notice also includes non-ad valorem assessments levied against the property.

Both types of taxes appear on the same tax bill and are subject to enforcemenet and collection in the same way.

Ad valorem taxes typically appear at the top of the tax bill and non-advolrem at the bottom.

“Ad valorem” means “on the value.” These are taxes based on the valuation of the property taxed. Ad valorem taxes include real estate, tangible peronal; property and intangible personal property.

Non-ad valorem assessments are fees for services such as Solid Waste, Fire, Lighting, Guard and other special assessments.

Real property tax notices are mailed to the owner and address of record on or before November 1 of each year for the calendar year, January through December.

The property values are based on a valuation prepared by the Property Appraiser as of January 1. The same value carries through for the entire year, even though the value of the property may be reduced during the year by fire, demolition, hurruicane or other causes–or enhanced during the year through remodeling, renovation or expansion, vertical or horizontal.

Upon completion of the certified tax roll, the Property Appraiser delivers the certified tax roll to the Tax Collector who mails tax notices to the last owner of record and collects moneys due to the various taxing authorities.

Combined Tax Notices are mailed each year in November for the calendar year January through December. For instance, tax bills mailed in November 2005 are for calendar year January through December 2005. Taxes become delinquent on April 1 each year, at which time additional interest and fees are added to the bill. Discounts do not apply to delinquent payments.

According to section 197.122, Florida Statutes, the taxpayer is “held to know” when taxes are due and payable. If a taxpayer does not receive a tax notice in November, it is the taxpayer’s responsibility to contact the Tax Collector’s Office to request a duplicate tax notice.

The Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners, municipal governments and various governing bodies set the millage rates for properties within their boundaries. One mill equals $1.00 per $1,000 of property value.

You may estimate your real property ad valorem tax by using the assessed value, minus any exemptions, multiply by the millage rate and divide by 1,000. For instance, $100,000 in taxable value with a millage rate of 5.0000 divided by 1,000 would generate $500 in taxes.

Non-ad valorem assessments must be added to real property tax, if applicable for the estimate to be accurate. Non-ad valorem assessments do not apply to tangible personal property.

You may access tables of recent millage rates from the Property Appraiser, or historical millage rates below.

Multi-Level-Marketing: The Real Estate of the 21st Century

Posted by admin in The Marketing Way

At some point, many people realise they’re not where they want to be. They’re stressed out, tired, their health has suffered, they never see their family and they find themselves in dead-end jobs, living pay to pay, with no seemingly possible way out. This often leads to uncertainty and frustration as one searches for the opportunity that will satisfy their needs, secure their financial future and make them proud of where they’re at.

This article is geared towards those of you who are unsure of your next step. Perhaps you’ve already invested in a few opportunities that haven’t worked out but your determination keeps you going. If you have some long term financial goals and an unshakeable will to succeed then this article is for YOU.

•Ever wish you’d had the foresight to recognise an opportunity?

•Find yourself justifying why not to take a risk?

•Want more out of life but can’t leave your 9 to 5 job?

•Feel you’re meant for bigger things but never found ‘that thing’?

•Ever had a job that wasn’t really ‘you’ and wondered how you got there?

•Want your own business but lack the skills and don’t have time to study?

YOU ARE NOT ALONE! Did you know that 80% of people employed in full-time work, hate their jobs?! If you answered yes to even one of these questions, consider for a moment that Multi-Level-Marketing is for you. Let’s look at the potential:

•Foresight: Many of us lack foresight. But what if someone told you that a Multi-Level-Marketing business could offer you unlimited earning potential, freedom to work your own hours and a dream life-style - would you believe them or would you continue to rely on your own foresight to recognise an opportunity, even though it’s been fruitless thus far? (Recommended reading: The Business School For People Who Like Helping People by Robert Kyosaki).

•Risk: Many people fear risk because they don’t see the potential of taking a risk. Others see the potential but set limits on their level of risk, so they risk nothing. Whether you’re risk is with finances, time or your ability to succeed, the Risk-to-Reward ratio of a MLM businesses can be HUGE! That is, your level of investment is small compared to your earning potential and the business skills you develop is worth your emotional investment.

•Can’t leave your 9 to 5 job: You don’t have to! You can start your own MLM business from home around your current schedule maintaining your primary income whilst building your secondary income. Build your skill-set and your cash-flow before moving into your MLM business full-time, if that’s what you’re after.

•Meant for bigger things: Perhaps you feel you’re worth more than a corporate job where recognition for your hard work is passed to those above but you doubt your ability to start your own business. Maybe you want your own business but don’t know what you want to do or you lack the capital to invest. MLM is a marketing system used by many different industries so you need only choose a trusted MLM system in an industry that excites you and the world is your oyster!

•Your current job just isn’t you: Whatever you dislike about your current job, guaranteed there will be a MLM business out there that will give you everything you want.

•Lack skills but don’t want to study: Most MLM businesses offer a Personal Mentor who started where you did so they have an understanding and compassion for how you feel. They teach you the skills necessary to run your own business - skills you can acquire around your full-time job so there’s no need to leave work and pursue study. Your Mentor becomes a trusted friend who offers invaluable experience and expertise, support and inspiration through the good and the bad.

If you’re interested in Multi-Level-Marketing, here are some important things to remember in your search for a business:

•The difference between MLM and pyramid schemes is that pyramid schemes are illegal and multi-level-marketing is NOT.

•Look for a MLM business that allows advertising. Being unable to advertise means your scope for business growth is limited.

•Ensure the business resides in an industry with massive growth potential. Whether you’re looking for a supplemental income or a lifestyle change, investment in a growth industry means you’ll have the choice.

•Make sure the company is reputable and stable. Do your research and learn the history of the company you’re signing into.

•Investigate a MLM business the same way you would any business opportunity. Don’t expect it to be explained in a 5 minute phone conversation. Be willing to view an information package before you make a decision.

•Make sure the business system is simple and duplicable - if you want to build your business you need to be able to teach it to others.

The Art of Backend Selling

Posted by admin in Better Sales

The art of backend selling

The backend sale can be more rewarding than
the original sale. And it can also be much
easier.

What exactly is a backend sale?
After you have sold something to somebody
you are in an excellent position to sell them
something else which complements the first sale.
You already know the customer has an interest
in a certain type of product or service, so
they are prequalified leads for a backend sale.
Take a store selling fishing tackle, as they
have just sold you a rod, reel, and line they
know you are going fishing, so they also offer
you the bait you will need.

The customer who has just bought is also in a
buying mood, and has his wallet, credit card
or cash out. While he/she is there, there is
a good chance they will be open to another
purchase from you, as they already trusted
you once.

Here is a story of a backend sale I once had
which illustrates how it can work for you.
I had a customer purchase a membership to
a safelist I was running, but he then decided
that it didn’t work for him. He requested his
money back, which I happily supplied, but added
to the end of the email that he may like to try
a different way of advertising, and I was an
affiliate for a company which could offer him
an alternative. I received an affiliate payment
for 50% of a $60 sale, on the back of returning
the $5 membership fee.
Now that was good enough for me to realise the
value in the backend sale.

Try it out for yourself, on your thank you page
add a link to a complementary product your
customer can purchase on his way off your site.
Your bank manager will love you for it.
