Will Smaller Resellers Be Forced out of the Gaming Laptop Sector Too
I remember a time where laptops for gaming were a specialist thing. For sure they were never produced in large quantities however companies did generate a lot of profit on them. I am pretty sure everybody would have liked to have owned one however were unable to seriously justify it. They were basically desktop rivals and the fastest, best laptop you could purchase. I would get really excited by them however I knew I could not go out and buy laptop computers at the high prices they were selling for. The outlook for gaming laptop computers is now seen by the giant companies as a golden opportunity for themselves.
If mass manufactured, brands can produce massive margins on gaming laptops. As the profit margins on mass market notebook computers have become so tiny, manufacturing specialized laptops for gaming is one plan to regain a higher gross margin. I am quite certain that the majority would buy laptop computers if marketed to everybody by these big companies. I wonder whether this would be the demise of the little system builders? Now laptops for gaming will no longer be considered a specialist market. Large companies can apply their brand names to simply win customers over.
I guess its some what laughable that because it comes with a brand name they are carelessly considered the best laptop computers. I believe this would still be the encouraging benefit for local manufacturers though. The customizations factor is a big benefit to the consumer. I reckon the consumers that buy laptops for gaming usually know what they are searching for. In deciding between power and aesthetics, these people generally choose the former. This is all positive from the buyers position. I could forecast a few price wars taking place in this market later. I am not too sure any of that would happen however. Brand new systems are continuously being released and these latest systems normally ask for high prices. Although I still think effects will be good due to the overcrowded market, we’ll have to wait and see.
