One of our most active senses is sight. What we see can affect our outlook and attitude by how its counterpart, our brain, perceives visual information that it filters through its memory banks. You can improve the odds and therefore your attitude and outlook by creating environments that are viewed as positive. Here, in part one, the positive effects of using art will be explored.
Art, in two-dimensional (2D) or three-dimensional (3D) forms, can be pleasing to the eye and the mind in a variety of ways. Our minds enjoy problem-solving. From the simple to the complex, figuring things out is one of its favorite past-times. The other is rest. That is why art is attractive. Some art appeals to its thoughtful aspects and some to its restful ones. The, the subconscious and conscious come into the picture. When all aspects are in sync with each other is when you receive the greatest amount of pleasure from it. Although the conscious mind might not like a Picasso your subconscious part might think it is speaking its language.
Art is a language, a symbolic one, literally. Some symbols are put down simply as a straight line, a geometric shape, or a primary color. Others are more complex as symbols are combined to make a flower, a house in a forest, or a sail boat crashing the ways near an island with stilted huts. Just because something appears simple, however, does not mean that it is interpreted that way by the subconscious. For it, a red circle on a black background can say a whole lot of things to some people because of how it is perceived and interpreted. My artwork, therefore, might appeal to one type of person where a Rembrandt would appeal to another. Again, it is not the simplicity or complexity of the work, as my contemporary art can be very complex in design, too. It is the subconscious language that is spoken and how our brain is wired to understand it.
There are several ways to create a positive environment with art. The first is to disregard that notion that all the colors in the artwork need to match your sofa or your overall décor. Choose what feels good to you. Don’t deny it, no matter what. In my bedroom, I have a large painting on canvas, four small paintings on canvas hung in a series, and a medium size wall sculpture. The shapes and colors are bold, bright, and primary. None of the subject matters coordinate. My choices were made because when I open my eyes in the morning, I see these cheerful pieces and they make me smile. What a way to start the day, huh?
Second, consider original artwork, that which comes directly from the artist?s creative hands. This includes artist pulled prints. There is an energy that I believe is palpable from such work. There are remnants of handprints, brushstrokes, hammers, and polishers, in other words, elbow grease. Even manufacturers are adding textured glazes to their prints to try to make them look more original. Original art has the spirit of the artist in it. Manufactured art has the spirit of the machine that made it. In a small hall leading to the bedrooms, hung salon-style, floor to ceiling, is a montage of works done in neutrals, blacks, whites, grays, and beiges. They feel restful and relaxing as I view them from my living room. Subject matter ranges from abstract to realistic. They are in pencil, charcoal, pastels, and inks. They are interesting singly and as a grouping.
Most people do not realize how affordable original artwork still is. So, if you like the colors of Matisse or the forms of Moore, there are other artists out there doing similar work today. Artists study other artists. Visit local galleries where they feature local or emerging artists. Check out the internet. Go to local art shows especially the smaller ones. Do an experiment for me. Replace a manufactured print with an original work of art. After a few weeks or a month, although you might notice it immediately, let me know what you think.
Spaces that appeal to our sense of sight can be created simply and affordably with art. They then become positive environments in which you can do your best work and living. Creating a positive environment with art is all about you.

FC Barcelona won the Spanish soccer league yesterday (3rd of May 2006) for the second consecutive time. Ronaldinho - playing for Barcelona - is considered to be on of the best players at the moment and replaced David Beckham as best paid soccer player.
Beckham plays in the adversary team Real Madrid (RM), that is struggling for the second place in the league which is - with two more matches to go - not at all an easy job. Real Madrid confronts a depression for more than a year of which it is not possible to liberate itself. One of the problems is that the team - portraits as “the Galactics” - has contracted too many individual heroes. There are besides Beckham three more very talented players. The mistake of this club RM to contract too many individual talent for the same team didn’t work out. As often, common sense is not always that common.
Ronaldinho on the other hand is not at all dominating FC Barcelona. The team is very well balanced. But there is a special effect that accounts on his behalf. This is not his technical talent for which he is obviously hired and admired. It is something about his nature.
Ronaldinho is always friendly and smiling. A part of this is given by nature; some people have a face that radiates. But I think - without knowing his biography which is probably not due yet for his age - that he has also learned to be positive if you want to achieve something in life.
There is this saying; “Laugh and the world laughs with you, cry and you cry alone.”
You won’t catch the RM players smiling at the moment. But let’s hope they will soon.
Talent is not everything, but a smile will help you.

It can present itself as depression, aching and exhaustion, burn out, fibromyalgia, auto-immune deficiencies, low sex drive, insomnia, hair loss, and a host of other things that make life a struggle every day. Adrenal fatigue will ultimately compromise your immune system, which is your health. I remember first hearing about it nearly 20 years ago at a time when a series of external events had me running on fumes … which is a good way to put it.
Our adrenal glands manufacture cortisol and adrenalin, things I’m sure you’re heard about, and associate, correctly, with the fight or flight response.
“I was running on adrenalin” you might say after giving a presentation, or simply on an ordinary day that began with a kid that wouldn’t get dressed for school, running late on a jammed freeway, facing an angry boss … You go into “overdrive,” and stay there, and this makes you over-react to things and also causes more trouble for yourself as you elicit stressed reactions from others. In fact, I’m sure you know people who are “addicted to adrenalin,” those hard-driving Type A personalities who are always flaming and have a big ring of sweat under their arms. Or the new Type D, the ones who’ve gone through it to the other side, and are cynical, bitter and depressed. Depression, after all, has been called “anger without enthusiasm.”
It’s your body moving into basic survival mode, which it does in a split second. Your heart rate and blood pressure increase, your body goes after stored energy resources, pumps out chemicals, and makes you very, very “alert.”
All well and good if there’s a gun at your head, but when it’s chronic, it’s monstrously hard on your body, and takes it toll. How so?
Well, as we learn in studying emotional intelligence, our reptilian brain - the one with the basic instincts for survival has the strongest impact on us, and it doesn’t really think. It’s not good at rating “crises” on a scale of 1-10. It also confuses a thought or memory with “now”. You can raise your blood pressure telling an old war story, or listening to someone else’s, right? Furthermore, and this is why EQ is so important, we all have different “set points.” Some of us are more innately reactive to stressors than others. You know if you have kids - with one you might have to raise your voice and really make your point. With the other, just a look will do. Our lives are full of stressors. Then we eat poorly, the best of our food isn’t that nutritious any more, and we get hooked on the temporary “highs” of carbs and caffeine. So there you are - under-nourished, over-worked, bombarded with environmental toxins, unable to manage your emotions which take an added toll on your immune system, and locked into a nasty feedback loop.
You get stressed, you react and do all the things that make it worse, you pump out more cortisol, which if kept at high levels destroys muscle and bone, slows down healing, impairs digestion, over-rides other important functions and biochemicals you could use for your health, impairs your thinking, and eventually the exhausted adrenals fail to produce sufficient DHEA and brings on a host of side-effects such as those listed above. It may also be a contributing factor such things as chronic fatigue syndrome, arthritis, and premature menopause. And depression, if you’ve wondered why everyone’s on Prozac these days.
What I started doing was studying nutrition, researching high-quality nutritional supplements (essential fatty acids from fish oil seem to be key as well as a general immune booster such as Arbonne’s DefenseBuilder), limiting toxins (did you know what you put on your skin is absorbed into your bloodstream and you might take a look at those drugstore cosmetics you apply so lavishly) and studying emotional intelligence. Eventually I went on to become a coach in these areas. After all, if you can control the emotional reaction that triggers the cortisol, well, there you have it, though you will have to attend to the damage already done, thus the nutriceuticals. Sleep and non-addictive exercise too, but most people with adrenal fatigue don’t sleep well. Many of the tenets of Emotional Intelligence are similar to those used by Buddhist monks, and we know what they’ve been able to achieve in terms of changing brain waves, etc. Their goal is to avoid suffering, and that’s a good description of adrenal fatigue: suffering. According to Marcy Holmes, Women’s Health NP who writes for womentowomen says: “It’s important to emphasize the role of emotional factors. Guilt, pain from the past hurts, self-destructive habits, unresolved relationship problems - your past and present emotional experience may serve as an ever-present stressor.” This is the typical medical model of pathology, which includes traditional therapy, talking, and going back in the past. Coaching and Emotional Intelligence are dealing with the now and the future, and simple, effective things you can learn that work. A certain percentage of people do need the dredging work of therapy but many more just need to know how to get a new emotional lifestyle, and that’s what EQ is all about. For instance we know that talking about anger is not a solution; it generates more anger. It’s learning how to deal with the anger in the first place (because anger kills) and that’s EQ. Our emotions effect our immune system, and our immune system if our health. If you have serious health problems, of course, consult your personal healthcare professional who is the only person from whom you should get medical advice.

4. A public radio station offers MP3 players as premium gifts during membership drives. Each player is pre-loaded with spoken word or musical features from their most popular programs.
5. A financial institution offers MP3 players as an incentive for new accounts. The branded players contain an audio magazine that promotes other investment and money management strategies that compliment their product offerings.

You are a marketing professional. If you were to answer few questions, will you be able to? Let me ask you. What is the birthday of your top ten buyers? What is the date of their wedding anniversary? How many children do they have and what are their birthdays. What do they like and what do they hate? Are they deeply religious? Which is their favorite restaurant? I can as k you few more questions like these, but I feel that you are getting what I am trying to say.
In this race of getting orders, who will win? One who knows more about his/her buyer than others? One who knows how to relate to the buyer at a personal level and one whom the buyer will slowly begin treating like a family friend. For achieving that, you must know about your buyer and make use of that information to increase your good will. Let me tell you how you can do it with ecards very easily.
Occasions when you can send ecards to buyers - Birthdays of your buyer, his/her spouse and the children is one day you should never miss. The wedding anniversary, arrival of a new baby, congratulations to a child for doing well in the examination, completing graduation, all holidays and every other occasion when they would love to receive your ecard should be used. Don’t miss a single such day, even if you expect next order after a year. Believe me that by that time, you would get so close that your buyer would not call offers from anybody else. Marketing is an art. Use ecards to perfect that at no cost.
