Ski Holidays for the Environmentally Friendly Holiday Maker

Many skiers will before long be searching for their salopettes and shooting forth trying to find the largest snowfall.

And beyond any doubt the result of your carbon footprint will be about as far down the list of holiday essentials as a xmas tree after the Christmas holidays.

But last winter, a late snow was in the headlines and tourists were terrified about the flakes of snow dissolving almost as soon as they put down.

Ski holiday business Chalet1802, located at the foot of Mount Blanc in the Alps, is one of the only autonomous firms to go carbon negative and afford skiers an environmentally friendly choice when reserving their ski trip.

Chalet1802 proprietor Hulbart said: Last winter was a bit of a surprise with the warmest wintertime in fifty five years in Europe. It was mild and the snow did not settle so much of the early season ski season in the mountains was uneven. We selected to go carbon neutral to help preserve the skiing resort.

Hulbart said: We are not trying to prescribe to holiday makers only I consider it’s important to afford the clients the option without raising the price of the ski holiday. When the guest book with us they may further off set their carbon footprint and we take in the additional costs. Naturally we still have a sauna and a hot tub - customers wish for luxury but not at the expense of the surroundings, so we considered methods of lessening the impact of someone flying over here for a ski holiday.”
