It’s a given I’m not a spineless laid back dude, habitually occupied by going solo every weekend. It’s unlikely you haven’t pegged me to write a ramble about great dating and companionship. That’s just me for ya.

Helplessness is an avoidable quality and entirely never written into my values. Let me go on, I’ll level with you, I was forced to put the breaks on a solid cohabitation which meant a lot for us but simply deadended for both of us. I guess you would say it has been a while since I was dating. I can’t find the great expectations in relationships I used to enjoy.

Being single is new and free. One thing is for sure, I don’t know how to sit tight, peacefully binging on Jack Bauer (from 24) episodes off the torrents. The real cause of this bout of temporary dating apathy? My coworkers are stiffs, and most ladies I meet at work are taken.

My one-time hunting buddy, Jim, who has never had dating apathy, sympathized because he is almost in the same boat. He signed up for Great Expectations Phoenix. A bit out of character, but I like mingling among delightful women who meet my values. Surprise, I put myself on a plan and became a member.

Be honest, there ain’t room to grovel by not having plans when you haven’t picked up the phone. As our senior year baseball coach Terry Kniffen carried on as his idea of encouragement, “When the ladies don’t bite, bite them first, stupid.”

Sheer genius, right? But, Coach was a source of truth in a good old fashioned way. He was likable in all ways. The amazing series of Dallas singles events I just went to definitely would have short circuted the old man’s shiny bald head.

At yesterday’s Great Expectations dating events I mingled with some substantive and appealing women that meet my eye. I actually had a blast with a few pretty noteworthy people. The evening ended following an exchange of digits, and even developed some political relationships for my company. I’m impressed.

Take action. You won’t go wrong if you don’t. Take it from me, believe in your own great expectations for dating.
